ABOUT US
The Healthy Bug was started in April of 2005 by Lou Liberatore. Lou has been in the natural health industry for over 12 years. Lou has worked for several companies such as Flora, Purity Life, Supreme Foods, Sisu, and Preferred Nutrition prior to opening his own store.
Lou has a genuine passion and interest for this industry. Our store belongs to the Canadian Health Food Association and to a national buying group called the Health First network. This allows us to be price competitive and have regular flyers and newsletters for our customers. We won the Rising Star Award from the Canadian Health Food Association last year. This is an annual award given to a new business that demonstrates good business ethics, innovative marketing ideas, and potential to prosper. In 2007, we were nominated by one of our customers for the Better Business Bureau's Ethics and Professionalism Award. We came in the top three candidates for our category in Nova Scotia.
We presently have three of us on staff. We have one full time staff member, Wendy Smith (left), and a part time member, Annette Cote(right).
